Welcome back for the 2026 League Year!

Open play kicks off Monday, July 13th at the NASA Gym. For the first few sessions, your club officers will kick things off with a quick debrief of what the season plans are and general rules\/expectations. Additionally, the club will hold at least two, brief reffing clinics at the start of open play to make sure everyone gets a refresher on reffing responsibilities and best practices. TBD when those are scheduled. We are also cooking up a potential open play tournament, more details to come.

The regular season will begin Monday, August 10th and will run until Thursday, October 29th. The tournament will then run Monday, November 2nd through Thursday, November 19th. The Winter season is tentatively scheduled from mid-January to mid-March (no tournament). More info to come.

Deliverables due dates will be announced here and via email in the near future, however, the sooner you can get the Gym Waiver signed (see the Information page on the website), the sooner you can get access to the gym (assuming you aren’t already a gym member) – This is only applicable to NASA CSs and CTRs, though we did demonstrate CAC access for a few DoD\/DoW workers last year.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are a recreational, co-ed volleyball club with no requirements for previous experience or set skill levels. The players and teams typically vary in skill level and age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teams may be formed in any way (friends, co-workers, or a team of teamless players), and usually carry a roster of 8-10 players. Several teams have players that are not able to play every game and may carry larger rosters. While there is no cap on the number of players on a roster, there is a minimum of 4 players on the court, of which one player must be a woman, to prevent forfeit. Teams are permitted to borrow players from other teams, the teamless list, or a floating sub list during the regular season only, though please try to avoid this week after week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Game nights are Mondays and Thursdays each week (with the possibility of Tuesday games, depending on the number of teams registered. Warm-up and equipment set up begins at 5:00 PM on scheduled days. Games begin promptly at 5:30 PM.  Each team should expect to play one night per week during regular season other than bye weeks and holiday weeks. At the end of the Fall season, there is a double-elimination tournament at the end of the regular season during which teams may play on both nights depending on the bracket schedule. The Winter season does not have a tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All are encouraged to join us when open play is offered. This is a great way to meet other players and teams, and spend time on the court before the season starts. Open play is typically scheduled before the season starts and on holiday weeks during the regular season. Please check our schedule for dates and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
